Art Journal: page 5

"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart" - Carl Jung
I don't have a vision lately, a focus, a goal.  Trying to find one!  I took a bunch of jewelry tags and attached them to cover the entire page.  Then used acryllic paints to show details.  I filled the heart with some recipe pages from my great grandma.  I tried to use gel medium to transfer the quote, it didn't work too well.  It was supposed to be clear. But it ended up having a white tint...so I just put more white paint/gesso down to make it more obvious.  Black outlines with India Ink.  I'd like to find inda ink in more colors...probably have to order online.

Art Journal: page 4

This one started off using Pan Pastels (my new favorite way to color a canvas).  I thought I would do a garden type page.  But it didn't work out.  I used a stencil for the tree. Then added some red...apples?!?!?  Not sure.  Endedup covering it all with a layer of gesso and paint to make it more subtle.  The bird is from art philosopy cricut cartridge.  THe house, free hand cut.  THe flowers....who knows!?!?  My stash is so random anymore I Have no idea.  THe letters are from Heidi Swapp.  I make most things stick to the page with some gel medium. In the end, I like this one.  HOme is where the Heart is.  And where I prefer to be most days.

Art Journal: page 3

This one still isn't finished, but it may never be.  I used the cricut and CTMH art philosophy cartridge to cut some stencils....sprayed & sprayed with all different brands of mist, etc.  Used white paint to trace a few of the lines from stencil.  The page is shimmery, one of the tattered angels sprays was laced with glitter or something.  It ended up darker than I had planned.  I think I added a title to this a few days after....saying "it's all in the details"

Art Journal: page 2

This one, well...it was an angry session.  I just found out my husband lost his job.  And took it out on the paper.  I used acryllic paint, torn paper, chipboard shapes and a charcoal pencil to write on it.  Apparently there was enough anger to take up two pages...sheesh!

Art Journal: page 1

I went to a Donna Downey workshop on a whim....and while I was disappointed that I didn't leave with a competed journal....(my fault, misread class description) I left with tons of ideas on how to alter & use mix media art on a journal!  Our family is going through some major life changes right now with work, etc....so this is going to help me get through that (I hope). ON this page I used medium to attache paper towel, my great grandmas old recipes and some tags.  Stamped, painted, and used stencils with sprays to create layers of colors.  Evolve, Explore, Embrace.

IM BACK!!!!!!!!

So...Summer takes over and I tend to lose my creative time...which does NOT make sense!?!?  I should have more time with the kids home, right? NO! I take on a few more daycare kids & end up exhausted by the end of the day.  Baseball takes up the nights...and family fun the rest!

I seem to swing between a few different crafts lately...my newest obsession is mixed media art journal/crafting.  I am goint to start posting one page at a time & tell you a bit about what I have done on each page!

Happy Crafting!
